What is a personal agent assistant?

A personal agent is installed on your computer and keeps working inside one conversation. Meido is that agent: a local runtime, three-tier memory, an Obsidian vault, and personas that each have their own engine, folder, and secrets. The web desk is at 127.0.0.1:10961. Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, and WeCom are optional doors into the same chat.

The main chat does not start over when the window fills. Old turns trim to a budget. What stays is the rest of the context: durable facts, active work, recent focus, the service briefing above the thread, and the notes in your vault. Topics name stretches of that same log. A named session is optional when you want a second transcript.

How Meido does this

  • One persona, one job. Each persona has its own engine, model, memory, briefing, hooks, skills, and paths. Several personas can share a chat, and each answers with its own context. See Personas.
  • Memory is a file, not the whole transcript. Three tiers hold durable facts, active work, and recent focus. Recent focus is capped. The service briefing is a separate note above the thread. See Memory and Vault.
  • Schedules re-enter the same chat. Cron and one-time prompts use the same personas and tools as a live turn. A finished run can be attached back to the transcript. See Schedules.

Questions

Does a personal agent need Telegram or Discord?

No. The local desk is enough. Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, and WeCom are optional doors into the same chat.

Can one agent hold every job?

Give each persona one engine, one folder, and one skill list. They still share the vault and the board, and you can mention another persona in the same thread.

What happens when the thread gets long?

Older turns roll off. Memory tiers, the service briefing, and the vault stay. Topics still title stretches of that same log, so you can jump back without opening a new chat.
