Environment file

Meido reads .env from the current working directory, or from the path in MEIDO_CONFIG. Use a dedicated project directory and keep .env there.

Settings → Environment shows the same values and writes them back. The groups are Workspace, Web access, ORIGIN vault, System LLM, and Integrations (browser ports, Tavily, SearXNG). Secrets stay masked. Editing .env by hand shows up the next time Settings loads.

Provider keys and channel tokens are edited on Connections and Integrations, not only in this file. Persona paths outside the workspace are MEIDO_PERSONA_<id>_EXTERNAL_PATHS.

See .env.example in the Meido repository for the full list. The setup wizard writes the bootstrap fields the first time.
